The Worship Experience at NMDC

Sunday morning service at New Mercies focuses on worship of the Lord Jesus Christ through inspirational music and preaching and/or teaching of the Word of God. You will find a culturally mixed congregation worshipping together. You will feel comfortable dressed in your “Sunday best” or in your casual attire.

Before Morning Worship Service
Before the start of morning worship, we ask that all enter the sanctuary with quiet reverence. Sunday School classes begin promptly at 9:30 AM and are conducted in the Sanctuary for adults, while children’s classes are held in one of the classrooms in the rear of the main church building.

During Morning Worship Service
Morning worship service begins promptly at 11:00 AM. As you enter the sanctuary, ushers are on-hand to assist you. Morning service begins with corporate prayer, scripture reading and singing. We sing a combination of traditional hymns and contemporary praise and worship songs. Visitors are welcome to join the singing or simply observe. You will see public demonstration of love for the Lord Jesus Christ that can take many different forms. You may see the lifting of hands, clapping or spirit-led dancing before the Lord. It is also likely to see someone cry, smile, sway back and forth or just close their eyes in quiet adoration -- these are all bible-based forms of worship that glorify God. Communion (The Lord’s Supper) is typically served on the 2nd Sunday of every month. When we do so, the significance of this ordinance is clearly communicated.

A monetary offering is received before the sermon. A visitor is under no obligation or pressure to participate in the offering.

Either Pastor George or Pastor Deborah will then present a sermon that illustrates practical application of biblical principles. However, should the pastors be absent, a member of the ministerial staff or guest minister will present the Gospel message. The pastor will end the sermon with a call to salvation for those wishing to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior and offer one-on-one prayer to all who desire.

After Morning Worship Service
Following service, Pastors George and Deborah remain in the sanctuary to greet guests and members. You can feel free to mingle with the Pastors and church members during this time.

We hope to see you soon!
